Optional BMW Equipment: BMW Alarm System, BMW HiFi Audio System with 10 speakers, BMW 6 CD-Changer Type A in the trunk, BMW Business RDS radio, Rear seat headrests, Electric sunroof, Sun Protection on the windshield.
Planned upgrades: Clear turn lights, Carbon-Fiber Interior and a variety of other minor interior mods for the look of the car. For the performance: Very likely a Chip Tuning with a 20 to 30 horsepower gain for a total output of 306 to 316 hp, along with deactivation of the 250 km/h limiter for a Vmax of about 275 to 285 km/h.
Service and Maintenance History
All work was performed at the BMW dealership where the car was delivered and purchased.
Prior to my ownership:
APR-1995 to JUN-1997: All inspections (BMW 2000km check, BMW Inspection I) and oil changes as scheduled.
Since in my ownership:
DEC-09-1997: Small winter inspection (BMW Winter Check). New set of 4 Michelin Pilot SX MXX3 (235/40 ZR 17) ultra high performance tires.
APR-21-1998: "TUeV" (Technical Inspection), "AU" (Emission Test) - both required by German Law every 2 years. Both front tires re-balanced (A balancing-weight on one wheel was missing causing minor vibrations on the steering wheel at 60 mph).
JUN-03-1998: Major Inspection ("BMW Inspection II") and BMW Oil Service (Semi-Synthetic 15W-40). Broken lens of the fog-light on the driver's side replaced. Airbag sensor re-attached which hang loose under the front passenger seat. Burned out LED back light from the OBC changed. Two bearings at the rear springs replaced.
MAY-19-1999: BMW Oil Service. I decided to switch from Semi Synthetic 15W-40 to Full Synthetic 5W-30. So far the Oil temperature surprisingly still remains clearly below 100 Degree Celsius (80 to 95 Deg C.), even at hot weather and full throttle rides on the Autobahn.
NEXT SCHEDULED SERVICE: Small Inspection ("BMW Inspection I") sometime in the next months. --- REMARK: Didn't happen, since I sold it :-)
